Position Summary:

 

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Enhance the sectoral body of knowledge in accordance with most recent theoretical developments and international aid agenda
    • Design 3 identified intervention modules to the level of module guidebook of approach, trainer’s handbook, and relevant tools
    • Develop appropriate M&E tools for the different types of intervention programs.
    • Organize, maintain and ensure continues developmentof WASH library for references and links to relevant sectoral resources

2. Offer technical support to WASH emergency operation teams and development of WASH programs in

    • Develop appropriate programming tools for the development, implementation and ending of a WASH program
    • Support HR department in the recruitment for emergency missions/programs.
    • Continue to support multisectoral work and TU workplan processors
    • Conduct training and orientation for emergency mission staff prior to their mission
    • Offer online support and guidance to WASH emergency mission staff for the program design, assessment and planning and implementation of the intervention.
    • Conduct debriefing sessions with emergency mission teams on return from an emergency mission along with programs head of department.
    • Review Project proposals and/or project reports from a technical WASH perspective

 

 3. Participation in emergency missions worldwide, leading IsraAIDs WASH teams on the ground and designing WASH interventions.

 

    • Availability to join 2-4 weeks missions with short notice
    • Conducting field assessment
    • Providing professional consultant to IsraAID's mission leaders
    • Designing immediate, short and long term WASH programs
    • Implement and lead immediate WASH intervention
    • Manage IsraAID's HQ WASH inventory and physical preparedness for emergency response

4. Maintain the IsraAID WASH global community including expert’s roster.

    • Conduct at least 1 WASH webinar for IsraAID WASH expert community per year
    • Lead quarterly IsraAID global WASH staff meetings to exchange knowledge and experience.
    • Design and implement sectoral orientation and on boarding for new WASH staff.
    • Coordinate and support collaboration with academic research

 5. Promote IsraAID as a leading WASH actor in the international humanitarian aid community.

    • Represent IsraAID in WASH Inter Agency Standing Committee activities and content development
    • Support the building and maintaining of high-level WASH related partnerships with recognized institutions

Representation

    • Have a thorough understanding of IsraAID's mission statement, organizational identity, and theory of change.
    • Raise the profile of IsraAID, work, and country missions through active participation in Interaction forums and external events when possible.
    • Serve as an advocate for the country's missions and the organization.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:

 

Requirements 

  • Strong commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complexities of working in diverse cultural contexts.

Education

  • Sc. in water/environmental/civil engineering, water resource management or relevant WASH academic background
  • MA / M.Sc. in relevant academic background - advantage

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in WASH programs/project management in context of developing countries, crisis zone or emergency settings
  • Proven experience in content development and capacity building
  • Proven experience in proposal writing or/and reviewing


IT Skills

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with database management and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with communication and collaboration platforms such as Zoom, Skype, or Teams.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
