Purpose of Role

The Marketing Manager will play a key role in shaping and executing marketing initiatives that drive awareness, engagement, and action for the Obama Presidential Center (OPC) and the Obama Foundation’s programming initiatives. Working closely with the digital marketing team and reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, this role will develop and implement omni-channel campaigns for the OPC and programming, ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints. The Marketing Manager will also collaborate across departments to align messaging, creative strategy, and audience growth efforts with the Foundation’s mission and key organizational goals and initiatives. The Marketing Manager will also support audience research and other brand marketing efforts to support overall marketing strategy and the lead generation work of the digital team.

Core Job Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Management

  • Ensure brand consistency across all OPC and program marketing materials, campaigns, and experiences.

  • Develop and implement tactics and execution plans that reinforce the OPC’s role as a cultural, educational, and civic engagement hub.

  • Develop and implement marketing plans to support the Foundation’s global, national, and local programs.

Campaign Execution & Audience Engagement

  • Manage day-to-day marketing activities, including creative asset development, campaign calendar coordination, creation of compelling content, and execution.

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns, including paid media, that support OPC ticketing, membership, retail, programmatic, and revenue goals, in partnership with the digital team.

  • Leverage audience research and persona development to inform targeted marketing strategies to drive engagement and conversion across key audience groups.

Performance & Data Analysis

  • Work with External Affairs data lead to track and analyze marketing campaign performance metrics, optimizing strategies based on data-driven insights.

  • Prepare and present data-driven reports that translate marketing performance into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with other Foundation teams to align marketing initiatives with broader organizational priorities, including OPC attendance and revenue goals.

  • Partner with OPC Operations and Communications team members on 24/7 management of on-site digital screens, including content updates, content rotation, quality control, and alignment with broader campaigns.

  • Support corporate and partnership marketing efforts, including co-branded campaigns and sponsorship activations.

  • Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and consultants to execute marketing projects effectively.

Project & Budget Management

  • Support marketing budget planning and tracking, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

  • Work with centralized project management support to maintain timelines, track deliverables, and ensure execution aligns with strategic objectives.

Key Deliverables / Outcomes

  • Execution of marketing campaigns that contribute to OPC attendance, membership growth, and earned revenue goals.

  • Consistently optimized marketing strategies based on audience insights and performance data.

  • Effective collaboration across teams to ensure marketing alignment with programmatic and operational objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, or audience engagement. Cultural institution, nonprofit, mission-driven organization or visitor attraction experience is welcomed.

  • Expertise: Strong understanding of brand marketing, multi-channel marketing, audience engagement, and digital marketing trends. Experience with CRM systems, data analytics, and performance marketing preferred.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally.

  • Cultural Competence: Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience implementing culturally relevant marketing strategies.

  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in executing campaigns and tracking results.

The salary range for this role is between $87,020 and $108,775.

This is a hybrid role based at our Chicago office in Hyde Park.
