Salary Range: €40,000 - €45,000 depending on experience.

About the role

CPI is recruiting for a Project Delivery Lead position that will support CPI’s work across its programs, focused on those managed by CPI Austria. Reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager, the Project Delivery Lead will operate largely autonomously to support the full grant lifecycle from project proposals to award closeouts, managing the key elements of budget and resource planning, business development processes, contracting and risk management, and financial and narrative reporting processes for several major climate finance programs and projects, which will evolve based on team needs and program priorities. This position sits at the nexus between CPI’s research, finance, and operations teams. You will gain exposure to a wide array of projects in the international climate finance space, collaborating with the CPI world class technical team focused on catalyzing investment in climate solutions through cutting-edge financial mechanisms and impactful research.

You will need to quickly develop a solid understanding of the project objectives, workstreams, strategy, budgets, and governance, as well as of CPI’s internal project and budget management processes. You will further develop and support the program implementation and governance, including developing relationships with internal stakeholders across the CPI organization. You will possess a calm, diplomatic approach, demonstrating resilience under pressure and a positive outlook to work effectively and collaboratively in a challenging context managing a diverse and dispersed set of stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities



The Project Delivery Lead will be assigned primary duties including, but not limited to those outlined below:

  • Lead tracking of financial spending, budget health, and other key performance metrics in coordination with the CPI program teams and CPI Finance staff.
  • Lead discussions with program teams on staff and consultant resourcing requirements.
  • Support CPI teams in contract management including compliance and risk identification and management
  • Lead ongoing financial forecasting to support program and project leads on identifying funding gaps and business development needs and opportunities for assigned programs.
  • Prepare narrative reporting through both internal project management tools and reporting to clients, and work with CPI Finance team to develop financial reports.
  • Coordinate business development process, including managing timelines, gathering input from the Program team, and navigating the CPI proposal development process.
  • Support engagement with funder finance and operation teams where budget or contract changes are required.
  • Work with assigned teams to provide ad hoc support and inputs including support for program managers with tools, templates, and written inputs in business development and grant application processes, including project proposals, budgeting, and contracting.



About You (Qualifications & Experience)

  • BA or BS degree required with professional experience in grants or contract administration or project management in the fields of international development, sustainability, climate change, or another relevant field.
  • At least 3+ years of progressive professional experience in administering high-profile programs / grants for government, business, and/or NGOs; evidence of increasing budget and resource management responsibilities is required.
  • Exposure to emerging markets and developing economies context is desirable.

  • Exceptional project management skills. A PMP certification or related qualification will be hugely beneficial in this role. Otherwise, CPI will also help provide training support to achieve PMP certification.
  • Ability to confidently work autonomously and coordinate the work of others effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and grant management software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and prioritization skills, and an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility, professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and an ability to interact with a diverse array of people based in various geographies.
  • Fluency in English and German required (written, verbal).

Position Details

  • CPI is recruiting for one full-time position (40 hours) to be based in our Vienna office.
  • Gross Annual salary includes 14 payments and is based on a 40-hour working week
  • CPI has adopted a flexible working policy whereby staff are able to mix working remotely with 2 days in the office.
