Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America’s boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country’s biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.
This role will support several Stand Together entities, primarily Stand Together Trust, as well as Charles Koch Foundation and Stand Together Ventures Lab. These organizations deploy philanthropic and venture investments to back social entrepreneurs, research, and market based companies that remove barriers to opportunity and scale bottom‑up solutions across education, future of work, health, constitutionally-limited government, and economic mobility. Through these partnerships and investments, Stand Together amplifies scalable, bottom-up solutions that drive movements for social change. These organizations host a variety of events, including coalition convenings, salon dinners, conference sponsorships and other strategic gatherings.
\nServing as a strategic advisor to colleagues by understanding the strategy of Stand Together Trust, Charles Koch Foundation, and Stand Together Ventures Lab; building strong relationships with those teams; and providing expertise to ensure events advance business objectives
Owning the planning and execution of offsite events from start to finish, including stakeholder coordination, budget development, venue sourcing, catering, other logistical elements, and on-site support
Acting as a liaison between colleagues and the HQ Events Team by providing audience knowledge and business context for events hosted in our office
Partnering with the event host to determine programming elements including session topics and speakers, as needed
Supporting other events across the Stand Together community, as needed
Managing an inventory of event materials and swag
Staying current on industry best practices, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve event planning processes
3-5 years of experience in event planning
Ability to understand organizational goals and develop event concepts to support them
Superior level of attention to detail and organizational skill
Strong customer focus, and an ability to anticipate customer needs
Self-starter who can jump into projects with a can-do attitude, and see them through to completion
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, while communicating clearly and consistently with multiple stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Professionalism, humility, and openness to change and new ideas
Ability to travel approximately 10-15%
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
