About the Role
The Senior Manager, Salesforce & Technology serves as the Foundation’s primary internal technical resource for Salesforce CRM and supports the continued development of the organization’s broader technology and data ecosystem. This hands-on role provides organization-wide Salesforce governance, administration, architecture, automation, reporting, and strategic project support, while partnering with staff across departments who maintain ownership of departmental processes and data quality. The position also supports Salesforce CRM–Marketing Cloud integration and leads the technical development of reporting and data visualization capabilities. As the Foundation’s marketing operations, digital hubs, and program delivery models evolve, the role will help ensure the underlying systems, integrations, and technology infrastructure can support scalable growth and greater impact. A smaller portion of the role supports broader technology, AI, IT, and security priorities in partnership with external providers. The Senior Manager balances responsive day-to-day platform support with long-term systems planning, documentation, data stewardship, and continuous improvement.
About the Team
The Operations team supports the systems, infrastructure, and operational practices that enable the Foundation's programs and departments to work effectively. This role reports to the Associate Vice President, Finance & Administration, and works closely with colleagues across the Foundation to strengthen technology operations and translate functional needs into effective technical solutions. The Senior Manager also partners with external technology providers and marketing consultants when specialized expertise or additional project capacity is needed, or to evaluate new technology and software solutions. The role does not require direct supervisory responsibility; however, it may coordinate vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams.
Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Salesforce & Technology's core responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as the primary administrator and technical owner of Salesforce CRM, including governance, user access, permissions, security settings, system configuration, architecture, documentation, and change management in accordance with established organizational policies and data-security practices.
- Design, build, test, and maintain Salesforce solutions, including objects, fields, flows, automations, validation rules, integrations, and other configurations that support evolving organization-wide and departmental needs while applying appropriate quality-assurance, testing, release-management, and documentation practices.
- Partner with staff across departments to translate business and programmatic requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions, while maintaining shared responsibility for departmental processes, data quality, and appropriate functional Salesforce expertise and supporting adoption through training, guidance, and user documentation, as appropriate.
- Lead the technical development of Salesforce reports, dashboards, Tableau solutions, and other data visualizations in partnership with teams responsible for defining business requirements, KPIs, and intended audiences and help ensure that reporting is accurate, accessible, timely, and actionable.
- Provide dedicated capacity for Salesforce CRM–Marketing Cloud integration and technical support, initially focused on data architecture, synchronization, troubleshooting, and CRM enhancements that support digital audience engagement and applicable data-privacy, consent-management, and email-marketing requirements. Over time, this responsibility may expand to support the technology components of additional marketing operations solutions, and especially to bring about technology needs alongside continued Salesforce CRM–Marketing Cloud integration, reflecting the Foundation’s evolving marketing function.
- Help shape and advance the Foundation’s broader technology ecosystem, ensuring that evolving digital program delivery, marketing, and audience-engagement needs are supported by an effective and scalable technology infrastructure.
- Maintain and prioritize an organization-wide roadmap of Salesforce enhancements and strategic technology projects, providing hands-on execution and coordinating external consultants when specialized expertise or additional capacity is required while communicating project status, risks, dependencies, and recommended decisions to relevant stakeholders.
- Support broader organizational technology, AI, IT, cybersecurity, access management, and technology governance needs in partnership with the AVP, Finance & Administration and the Foundation's managed technology providers, including support for vendor management, software and systems inventory, access-review processes, and technology-related policy implementation, as assigned.
- Monitor emerging technology needs and recommend practical improvements that strengthen security, efficiency, scalability, reporting, and the effective use of technology.
- Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration decisions, data definitions, integration maps, administrative procedures, and end-user guidance.
- Help establish and reinforce data-governance standards, including data-quality practices, ownership expectations, retention considerations, and appropriate access controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Foundation’s mission and operational needs.
