Early Career Programme (ECP) Fall 2025 - Event Management, Greater China (6-month contract)
The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. Forum Beijing Office is registered as an NGO in China.
The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
As part of the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG), the team in Beijing manages the Forum’s overall engagement with government and public sector institutions in Greater China.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The role will be based in the World Economic Forum’s Beijing Representative Office, reporting to the Event Management Lead.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Event
Assist in Annual Meeting (AM26) China related events coordination (remotely) - Dalian Night, China Night, and other activities that Beijing office would like to organize during AM.
Support Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC26) event operations, including but not limited to
-Communicate with AMNC host city organizing committee
-Coordinate with AMNC host city venue teams
-Translate relevant bilateral documents: MoU, agreement, etc.
-Co-lead certain sub-project when required capacities are demonstrated
Handle staff & meeting agenda and logistics of site visits to AMNC host cities
Support Beijing Office Event (in-person, virtual and hybrid) management, coordination and delivery: work across teams to understand event objectives and expectations, and coordinate among relevant internal and external sides to ensure smooth delivery.
Provide consultancy and service reservation assistance for Beijing Office staff regarding third-party or co-hosted events delivery out of the office
Facilitate vendor management and new vendor searching
Support weekly all-hands meeting and maintain relevant meeting equipment
Programme
Do some program-related communication with AMNC host city.
Do some research to help identify star academic and thought leaders in China.
Help manage and retain relationship with academics.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
Full-time graduate student, major is not restricted
Passionate about events management and operations
Elementary knowledge on project management
Demonstrated ability to work in cross-culture environment
Capable of multiple-tasking and prioritize tasks
Excellent in both oral and written English and Mandarin
Technical experiences in Zoom will be a plus
Positive-thinking, service-oriented attitude, and detail-oriented
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Preferred start date: between September 15 and October 15,2025
