Early Career Programme (ECP) Fall 2025 - Government Engagement, Greater China (6-month contract)

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. Forum Beijing Office is registered as an NGO in China.

The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

As part of the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG), the team in Beijing manages the Forum’s overall engagement with government and public sector institutions in Greater China.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

The role will be based in the World Economic Forum’s Beijing Representative Office, reporting to the Head of Government Engagement.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Support the team of four with day-to-day work with 30% on administrative support to the team and 70% on the engagement of Chinese government at various Forum events, including but not limited to:

  • Annual Meeting 2026

  • Meetings/workshops organized by Beijing Office in Greater China region

  • Logistics for internal meetings and external meetings with government stakeholders

  • Support on data input, on-line research, translation and other administrative work

Major responsibilities will be:

  • Support the team on administrative tasks

  • Role mapping for Chinese government stakeholders, i.e. finding sessions that matches their priorities through research

  • Document translation (English-Chinese and vice versa)

  • Support Forum staff’s liaison work with external stakeholders

  • Logistics support to Chinese officials during domestic meetings/workshops (badges, hotels, transportation, etc.)

  • Compiling documents and supporting material and drafting official request letters to respective government counterparts

  • Timely Follow-up with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of key information

  • Policy research on both central and local government

  • Provide logistic support to high profile visits

  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Requirements and Experience

  • Full-time graduate student, major is not restricted

  • With integrity, authenticity, frank communication style, ability to provide direct feedback

  • Basic understanding of how Chinese government functions is a must

  • Proficiency in English and Chinese language, written and spoken, with proven records

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must

  • Fast learning, multitasking, and able to work under pressure

  • Writing skills of professional Chinese document

  • Study abroad experience and working experience at international organizations a plus

Preferred start date: between September 15 and October 15,2025
